1. The agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and NavonStack (“we”, “us”), a business based in India run as a sole proprietorship. They cover your use of:
- APINine, including the dashboard at apinine.navonstack.com, the collector and the SDK (together, the “Service”);
- this website.
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you use the Service for a company, you confirm you’re allowed to accept these terms on its behalf, and “you” means that company. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data.
2. The service
APINine receives telemetry about requests to your API through the SDK. It runs rule-based detectors over that telemetry and raises alerts in the dashboard, and by Slack or email if you set them up.
APINine is in developer preview. We’re still building it, so features may change, be added or be removed, and the Service may sometimes be unavailable. We’ll try to give notice of significant changes, but during the preview we can’t promise any particular uptime or support response time.
3. Your account
- Give accurate information when you sign up, and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password, project API keys and package-feed tokens secret. You’re responsible for what happens under your account, including by teammates you invite.
- Tell us straight away at hello@navonstack.com if you think your account or keys have been compromised.
- You must be at least 18 to use the Service.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- send telemetry about APIs you don’t operate or aren’t authorised to monitor;
- put sensitive personal data, passwords, secrets or payment details into custom tags or other fields you control;
- break the law, or use the Service to harm, track or discriminate against people;
- probe, scan or load-test the Service, or try to get around its security, plan limits or other customers’ data separation. To report a vulnerability, email us instead;
- disrupt the Service, or send traffic designed to overload it;
- resell or rent the Service, or use it to build a competing product;
- copy, modify or reverse-engineer the Service, except where the law allows this despite these terms.
5. Your data
Telemetry, findings and alerts from your projects, and the settings you enter, are your data. You own it. You give us permission to store and process it only to provide, secure and improve the Service, as the Privacy Policy describes.
You decide what your application sends. You’re responsible for having a lawful basis for it, and for telling your own users about it where the law requires. The SDK never captures request or response bodies, and it lets you turn off IP capture.
We may use aggregated data that identifies no customer or person, such as total event counts, to run and improve the Service.
6. The SDK
While you have an account, we give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install the SDK in your own applications and use it to send data to the Service. The SDK is designed so that it can’t throw errors into your application. If the Service is unreachable, telemetry may be dropped instead, and your application keeps running.
7. Plans, limits and payment
- Each plan has limits, such as projects, events per month, users, alert channels, alerts per day and data retention. Your plan’s current limits are shown in the dashboard. When you reach a limit, the Service may stop accepting events or stop sending alerts until the limit resets or you upgrade.
- The Free plan costs nothing. We may change what it includes, and we’ll give reasonable notice first.
- Paid plans are billed at the price shown when you upgrade, plus any tax that applies. Online payment isn’t available yet, so upgrades are arranged by email. Before online payments start, we’ll publish our refund and cancellation terms.
8. Ownership and feedback
We own the Service, the SDK, this website and our brand, including all improvements to them. These terms don’t transfer any of them to you. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without any obligation to you.
9. Disclaimers
APINine helps you notice abuse, anomalies and outages, but it won’t catch every attack or problem. Some alerts may be wrong, late or not delivered, for example if Slack or email delivery fails. It doesn’t replace your own security controls, monitoring or judgement.
To the extent the law allows, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted or error-free operation.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows:
- we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill;
- we aren’t liable for losses from an attack or incident the Service didn’t detect or report;
- our total liability for all claims about the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law.
11. Suspension and ending
You can stop using the Service at any time. To close your account and have your data deleted, email hello@navonstack.com. We’ll delete it within 30 days, except records we must keep by law.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts the Service or other customers at risk, or is unpaid. Where we reasonably can, we’ll warn you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. Sections 5 and 8 to 12 continue to apply after your account ends.
12. Changes, law and contact
We may update these terms as the Service develops, and we’ll change the date at the top when we do. For significant changes, we’ll tell account holders by email or in the dashboard before the changes take effect. If you keep using the Service after that, you accept the new terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction over any dispute about them. If any part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies.
Questions about these terms: hello@navonstack.com.
